Job summary

Independence Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to support older adults in Millcreek, UT. You will assist in geriatric clinics, guiding mobility milestones, and coordinating care with the PT and care team.

The role emphasizes collaboration, clinical judgment, and sustainable workloads, with opportunities for mentorship and growth within a therapist-owned company that values clinician autonomy.

Qualifications

• Active Utah PTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Interest in geriatric care and functional outcomes.
• SNF experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Treat a medically complex geriatric population in a setting where time, clinical reasoning, and compassion are valued.
• Guide residents through mobility milestones - first steps, safe transfers, returning home.
• Lead gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions.
• Help reduce fall risk and build confidence with daily activities.
• Collaborate closely with your PT to adjust care plans.
• Work alongside nursing, OT, and speech to support whole-person recovery.
• Celebrate small wins that matter deeply to patients and families.
