Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Geri Psych unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. The role involves direct patient care in a 80-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.

The schedule includes Full-Time Nights, 3 12-hour shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The team delivers evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care within a structured environment focused on stabilization and recovery.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• LAPRN credentialed by Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop a nursing care plan.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and adjust goals.
• Implement nursing plan and co-lead group therapy sessions.
• Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise care with the team.
