Job summary

UAB Medicine’s Behavioral Health - Geri Psych unit at UAB St. Vincent's East provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• AL Board of Nursing licensure required on or before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psycho-social assessments and plan care.
• Participate in treatment team conferences; co-lead group sessions as needed.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust the nursing care plan with the team.
