Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to support Behavioral Health – Geri Psychiatry at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The role offers Full-Time 12-Hour shifts (days, nights, and WIN days) with a team-based care approach focused on stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness. Responsibilities include direct patient care and comprehensive nursing assessments, collaboration with the treatment team, and leading group therapy sessions as needed.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and current licensure at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to facility policies
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop a nursing plan of care
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions
• Implement nursing plan of care and co-lead group therapy sessions
• Evaluate patient responses and revise the nursing plan of care with the treatment team
