Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care within the Behavioral Health – Geriatric Psychiatry unit at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The role involves adapting nursing plans to individual cognitive and emotional needs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to stabilization and recovery goals. The position is full-time with night shifts (12-hour) and requires BLS and Alabama RN licensure.

Qualifications

• BLS certification or equivalent required within 30 days of hire.
• Diploma in Nursing and required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments; develop care plans.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan goals and interventions.
• Lead or co-lead group therapy sessions; adjust care plans as patient status changes.
