UAB Medicine's Behavioral Health - Geri Psych unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct nursing care, assessments, care planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a 12-hour shift model across days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments; develop a nursing plan of care.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals, objectives and interventions.
• Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and co-lead group therapy sessions.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise nursing plan; collaborate with the treatment team as patient status changes.
