Job summary

On Lok PACE in San Francisco, CA seeks a Staff Physician to oversee medical care for program participants under physician supervision. This includes continuous primary care, development of individualized treatment plans with the intake team, and coordinating with specialists to ensure comprehensive elder care.

The role involves regular examinations for enrolled participants, on-call coverage, and close collaboration with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• MD degree and current California medical license.
• Formal training in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; board eligible or certified.
• DEA certificate current and valid.
• BLS or ACLS certification current and valid.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete history and perform physical examinations for new enrollees.
• Develop treatment plans with Intake and Assessment Team for new enrollees.
• Record medical changes and perform regular interval exams (at least every six months).
• Serve as primary care physician; treat episodic illnesses across settings including clinics, hospitals, and nursing homes.
• Advise on case management and collaborate with Nurse Practitioner as requested.
• Collaborate with Clinic Nursing Staff and consult with medical/surgical specialists as needed.
• Provide on-call coverage for direct patient care on a rotation with other physicians.
• Maintain timely documentation and participate in staff meetings; provide in-service training as needed.
