Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist II for an outpatient setting in Woodstock, GA. You will perform venipuncture, label, process, and store specimens while delivering courteous patient care across ages, with emphasis on geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include explaining procedures, ensuring specimen integrity, matching requisitions, and maintaining OSHA/DEP compliance. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., onsite with potential to transition to permanent roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years recent phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency in venipuncture with straight and butterfly needles.
• Ability to perform 35+ straight needle sticks safely.
• Experience drawing from all age groups, focused on geriatrics.
• Typical 30+ patient draws per day in clinic settings.
• Strong customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to match requisitions to specimen tubes and verify information.
• Proficient in labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens per test requirements.
• Follow physicians’ orders and lab protocols accurately.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations and safety procedures.
• Attention to detail and 100% accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.
• Effective verbal communication to explain procedures and respond to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures safely and professionally.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures to maintain integrity.
• Match requisitions with specimens and verify information for accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport while maintaining temperature and integrity.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information in systems.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and safety standards.
• Attend annual trainings to stay current on procedures and safety.
