The position requires 6 months of phlebotomy experience and a current phlebotomy certification, with benefits available and a projected 3-month duration plus potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• minimum 6 months of experience.
• minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection to patients clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
