Job summary

Habitat Health is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to support safe, therapeutic nutrition services at our day centers. You will receive vendor-prepared meals, prep for service, verify temperatures, and keep the kitchen clean and sanitary.

Collaboration with Registered Dietitian to meet dietary needs is essential. You will maintain food storage standards, portion meals according to dietary cards, label perishable items, track inventories, and place orders as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of large-batch cooking experience.
• CA ServSafe and Food Handlers Certification.
• Ability to procure food from approved sources and store, prepare, distribute, and serve food under sanitary conditions.
• Ability to execute modified or therapeutic diets as directed by the interdisciplinary team and registered dietitian.
• A state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Aligns with Habitat Health values and daily practice.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambiguity and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing safe, therapeutic nutrition services at Habitat Health day centers.
• Receive vendor-prepped food and prepare it for participant meal service.
• Verify temperatures of cooling and warming equipment and record as directed.
• Maintain kitchen area in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
• Measure and record food temperature and ensure safety per Habitat Health policies.
• Prepare and plate food according to dietary cards and participant needs.
• Label and date all perishable food and manage home-delivery meals as needed.
• Record inventory and place orders for replacements.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
