$19.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Position Details

Title: Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Department: Nursing

Supervised by: Director of Nursing, Unit Managers (if applicable), Charge Nurses

Position Summary

Qualifications

• Must meet OBRA guidelines for Geriatric Nursing Assistant training and certification. Must maintain certification in good standing.
• Must abide by confidentiality protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently or more with assistance, using proper body mechanics.
• Ability to stretch arms above head and bend to pick up objects from the floor.
• Punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, dental care, and denture application.
• Ensure residents are appropriately clothed, make beds, and maintain room cleanliness.
• Assist residents with bathroom needs, change linens, and support bowel and bladder training.
• Help with menu selection, verify diet trays, and supervise eating.
• Perform assigned procedures like vital signs, specimen collection, and resident transfers.
• Provide end-of-life, restorative, and rehabilitative care as instructed.
• Respect residents’ rights and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Attend 12 hours of in-service and staff meetings annually.
• Follow organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and compliance standards.

All Shifts: 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11pm - 7am
