Job summary

Life Care Centers of America seeks a Certified Medication Technician to deliver quality geriatric care during admission and readmission, adhering to all laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Candidates should have a CNA program credential, active state licensure, CPR, and completion of the Certified Medication Technician program. Prior geriatric experience is preferred, with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a State approved CNA program.
• Currently registered/licensed in applicable State; active in good standing.
• One year geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current.
• State approved Certified Medication Technician program completed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, store and document oral/topical medications per orders.
• Report medication errors immediately and assess potential prevention.
• Ensure medication is given only with a signed, dated physician order.
• Chart promptly and accurately in patient records.
• Perform CNA functions as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Communicate functionally on an interdisciplinary team; uphold safety and sanitation.
• Demonstrate regular attendance and professional conduct.
