Job summary

Life Care Centers of America seeks a Certified Medication Technician to support admission/readmission nursing care. You will prepare, administer, and document medications; assist with procedures to reduce errors; and participate in interdisciplinary team activities while ensuring patient safety and excellent service.

Required CNA training, active state licensure, CPR, and prior geriatric experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have active state license in good standing
• CPR certification required
• One year geriatric nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, store, and document medications as ordered by attending physician
• Assist in developing procedures to assess medication errors and prevent them
• Report medication errors immediately to supervisor
• Ensure any medication has a written, signed, and dated physician order before administration
• Chart appropriately and in a timely manner
• Perform CNA functions as directed by supervisor
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients during emergencies
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
• Use reasoning and good judgment and communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, and move intermittently during shifts
• Read, write, speak, and understand English adequately
