Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services is seeking a part-time Dietary Cook responsible for meal and snack preparation, serving residents, and adhering to dietary guidelines. The role requires following resident diets, policies, and procedures while maintaining safety standards.

You will handle menu review, food temperatures, and assist with special diets and events. The position emphasizes teamwork, cleanliness, and timely meal service for geriatric residents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform assigned tasks.
• Must be able to relate work with geriatric residents and understand their special needs.
• Complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Ensure menus and alternates follow policies.
• Receive deliveries and check against orders.
• Cook meals and snacks per planned menus and policies.
• Prepare food for therapeutic and special diets.
• Maintain sanitation and safety procedures in all kitchen activities.
• Keep kitchen organized, clean, and stocked for next shift.
