Job summary

PACE Southeast Michgan seeks a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the OT department in clinical treatment programs for geriatrics and community settings. You will assist in implementing plans, document care, and participate in care conferences while upholding HIPAA and contributing to quality assurance initiatives.

Genial, patient-centered care is essential as you collaborate with the rehab team, participate in program development, and rotate to other facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan COTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of AOTA approved school with an associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of one year experience in geriatrics.
• Effective written communication skills
• Effective customer relation skills
• Effective analytical skills
• Effective verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments consistent with professional standards for OT Assistants.
• Legibly document daily and weekly treatments in the patient record.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for integrated patient care.
• Ensure delivery of quality care.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed.
• Represent the OT Department to family and staff and attend care conferences.
• Communicate effectively with staff, participants and caregivers.
• Maintain inventory and organize departmental supplies and equipment.
• Keep a clean and orderly clinical area.
• Participate in Quality Assurance initiatives.
• May rotate to other facilities or perform other duties as assigned.
