Job summary

Banner University Medical Center - South Campus in Tucson is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist for the Geriatric Psychiatry unit. You will provide direct care to psychiatric patients under RN supervision, assisting with daily living activities and safety needs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field (or HS diploma with 1 year inpatient behavioral health care) and BLS certification. Night shifts run 7PM–7:30AM with weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field, or HS diploma with 1 year direct inpatient behavioral health care.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric facilities and establishing a therapeutic milieu.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to psychiatric patients under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic nursing tasks.
• Support patient safety and observe patient behaviors for report to staff.
• Document observations, interventions and group activities in records.
• Assist in admission, discharge and transfer processes and related forms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to maintain therapeutic milieu.
