Job summary

Banner Health’s Behavioral Health Unit in Tucson, AZ seeks a Registered Nurse for the Geriatric Psych Unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for geriatric patients with co-existing medical and behavioral health needs.

The role includes direct patient care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team and documentation in the medical record. The position offers a night shift, full-time schedule with potential weekend rotations and shift differentials, and the opportunity

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or state requirements may apply for certain Banner facilities.
• Experience in acute care hospital setting is highly preferred.
• One year of acute care experience in the past 12 months is common for Banner Behavioral Health roles.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and plan discharge.
• Formulate and revise the plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and health team.
• Provide direct nursing care, coordination and supervision of care by staff.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in patient records.
• Participate in unit leadership, education and quality improvement activities.
