Job summary

Bethesda Southgate is seeking a dedicated Activities team member to coordinate resident life-story overviews and plan meaningful, person-centered activities. You will work with neighborhood teams to develop monthly calendars based on resident input.

You will arrange supplies, escort residents to activities, encourage participation, and ensure safety. Strong organizational and communication skills, plus geriatric sensitivity, are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Continued education in Recreational Therapy or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of growth and development and geriatric population expertise.
• CPR Certification required or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• One-year geriatric experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to perform documentation in writing or via computer.
• Ability to push/pull equipment weighing over 40lbs with assistance.
• Ability to lift/move 10–30lbs with proper technique and assistance when needed.
• Manual dexterity for working with patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes resident life-story overview and coordinates person-centered activities.
• Develops monthly activity calendar per neighborhood using resident input.
• Prearranges supplies and equipment for activities; leads participation and escorts residents.
• Maintains safety and clean work areas during activities and after events.
• May be assigned other duties appropriate to role.
