Job summary

The Activities Assistant supports the Director of Activities in planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activity programs for patients in a post-acute care setting. They ensure recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met in accordance with Life Care standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and follow Life Care policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, education).
• Chart patient progress and behavior descriptively.
• Escort patients to and from activities and make in-room visits to engage participants.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
