ABOUT THE FIRM

The Tyson Law Firm is a growing, Black-owned law firm serving clients throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Our practice includes personal injury, state and federal criminal defense, and family law.

We are hiring an experienced Law Firm Operations Manager to improve accountability, strengthen internal systems, and ensure that cases, prospective clients, and administrative priorities consistently move forward.

This is not a general office-manager position, and it is not an attorney position. We need a hands‑on operator who understands how a law firm functions and can effectively manage people, processes, deadlines, reporting, and execution.

THE ROLE

The Law Firm Operations Manager will oversee the firm’s day-to-day non-legal operations and help translate the owner’s priorities into measurable execution.

You will work directly with the firm’s owner, attorneys, case managers, intake personnel, and administrative staff. Your responsibility will be to ensure that expectations are clear, performance is measured, problems are identified early, and assigned work gets completed.

The right candidate must be comfortable holding employees accountable, including experienced staff, and should not wait for the owner to discover operational problems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and enforce accountability across case managers, intake personnel, and administrative staff
  • Monitor case movement, outstanding tasks, file documentation, deadlines, and workflow compliance
  • Ensure attorneys and staff consistently update Clio and other internal tracking systems
  • Develop and maintain practical KPIs for intake, case management, productivity, client communication, and file progression
  • Conduct weekly operational meetings and provide concise reports identifying results, unresolved issues, exceptions, and decisions requiring the owner’s attention
  • Identify stalled cases, missed follow-ups, overdue assignments, and communication breakdowns before they become larger problems
  • Oversee intake performance, including response times, follow-up activity, consultation scheduling, contract completion, and conversion tracking
  • Manage the hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, discipline, and development of non‑attorney staff
  • Document, implement, and improve standard operating procedures across the firm
  • Coordinate workflows across the firm’s personal injury, criminal‑defense, and family‑law practices
  • Work with attorneys and team leads to improve productivity without interfering with attorneys’ independent legal judgment
  • Evaluate staffing needs and recommend practical changes based on workload and performance
  • Manage vendor and administrative relationships as assigned
  • Convert the owner’s quarterly priorities into specific projects, deadlines, and accountable owners
  • Reduce the firm’s dependence on the owner for routine supervision, follow-up, and problem detection
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least three years of management, operations, or senior administrative experience within a law firm
  • Direct experience supervising legal assistants, case managers, intake personnel, paralegals, or other law‑firm staff
  • Working knowledge of law‑firm case workflows, client intake, deadlines, file management, and professional obligations
  • Demonstrated experience establishing expectations, measuring performance, and holding employees accountable
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple departments, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to identify problems independently and present solutions—not merely report that a problem exists
  • Comfort working directly with a demanding, growth‑oriented law‑firm owner
  • Proficiency with case‑management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Ability to work on‑site in Dallas
  • Applicants whose management experience is limited to restaurants, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, construction, transportation, or warehouse operations—and who have no meaningful law‑firm experience—will not be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Clio Manage, Clio Grow, or a comparable legal case‑management platform
  • Experience in personal injury, criminal defense, or family law
  • Experience managing intake and tracking prospective‑client conversion
  • Experience creating law‑firm KPIs, dashboards, and written operating procedures
  • Spanish fluency is strongly preferred but not required
  • Experience supporting a law firm through a period of growth or operational restructuring
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • More consistent case movement and file updates
  • Faster identification and resolution of stalled matters
  • Better intake follow‑up and conversion tracking
  • Reliable weekly reporting that allows the owner to make decisions quickly
  • Clear ownership of assignments and deadlines
  • Improved employee accountability and performance
  • Less day‑to‑day operational follow‑up required from the owner
COMPENSATION

Base salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on directly relevant law‑firm management experience.

The position is also eligible for a performance‑based bonus tied to measurable operational results. Performance measures may include improvements in intake response and conversion, case movement, workflow compliance, staff accountability, reporting accuracy, and achievement of firm‑wide operational goals.

Any bonus is discretionary, is not guaranteed, and will be based on both individual performance and the firm’s financial performance.

The Tyson Law Firm is an equal‑opportunity employer.
