Job summary

Ormat is seeking a geologist to support exploration, development and operations of geothermal resources globally. The role involves building conceptual models, geologic mapping, and collaboration with drilling engineers to optimize drilling plans.

Strong data analysis and reporting are required, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 2+ years in geoscience, and experience with ArcGIS and related tools.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or Engineering in a relevant subject; Doctorate advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years of industry experience; 2–10 years preferred.
• Field mapping and structural geology experience.
• Experience with geophysical and geochemical surveys desirable.
• PM experience; CAPM or PMP preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual models of geothermal systems using geochemistry and geology data.
• Create geologic maps focusing on structure and rock type.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers to plan directional wells.
• Lead prospect developments from analysis to reservoir testing.
• Prepare technical insights via reports and presentations.
• Maintain data management aligned with company systems.
• Contribute to team discussions and foster a positive environment.
