Job summary

Ormat in Reno, NV is seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer to support global exploration, development and operations of geothermal resources. The role demands leadership of multidisciplinary teams, reservoir modeling, and data-driven decision making.

You will analyze production and injection wells, plan remedial actions, and collaborate with geologists, operations, and project managers to optimize field performance. Strong communication and Python/Matlab skills are desired.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or Engineering in a relevant subject; Doctorate advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in geothermal (exploration, development and operations).
• In-depth knowledge of key components of related disciplines.
• Project management experience preferred; PMI CAPM or PMP is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet usage.
• Proficiency in well testing, analysis, modeling and wellbore simulation.
• Matlab and Python programming preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• English reading/writing/speaking at work level; additional languages advantageous.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work; accuracy and thoroughness.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a safe workplace with goal of zero incidents.
• Leads multi-disciplinary teams and acts as primary contact for projects.
• Develops reservoir models and supports wellfield design and operations.
• Analyzes production and injection wells and plans remedial actions.
• Prepares technical insights via reports and presentations.
• Manages data consistent with company systems and processes.
• Mentors others and conducts internal/external trainings.
• Collaborates with geologists and project managers to justify wellfield recommendations.
• Plans and specifies well tests, logs and diagnostic procedures.
• Reviews logs, tests and diagnostic results; maintains data quality.
