Job summary

Invenergy seeks a Principal Geothermal Engineer based in Chicago, IL to guide subsurface technical efforts for geothermal plants from development to COD. You will manage multiple workstreams, coordinate with geoscience and thermal teams, and ensure project design, execution, and construction meet budget and schedule targets.

Required are a strong technical background in geosciences or engineering, 5+ years leading geothermal projects, and experience in reservoir modelling and heat transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or civil, structural, petroleum, mechanical or chemical engineering preferrable.
• 5+ years of experience in the management of technical and engineering teams for geothermal projects.
• Experience in site surveys, heat transfer and reservoir modelling is required.
• Strong leadership and communication across organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% during project execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project efforts from development to COD within budget and schedule.
• Advise on feasibility of projects based on geothermal technologies.
• Lead reservoir modelling and heat transfer analysis during development.
• Collaborate with geoscience, GIS, and thermal engineering teams to optimize designs.
• Prepare reports and maintain project documentation.
