Job summary

Ormat in Reno, NV seeks a Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of the geothermal power plant in accordance with safety and standard operating procedures. You will monitor plant systems, respond to alarms, and take corrective actions to maintain production.

Responsibilities include following procedures, operating equipment during normal, maintenance, and emergency conditions; reviewing data, maintaining logs, and supporting shift handovers.

Qualifications

• Must understand procedures after four years of high school.
• Must read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and complete operator safety qualifications on time.
• Control power-generation equipment during normal operation, maintenance, and emergencies.
• Review operating data, troubleshoot abnormalities and take corrective actions.
• Monitor displays, log plant activities, and ensure production meets requirements.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of plant activities.
• Prepare, review, and recommend operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks (PMs).
• Assist with equipment isolation, lockout/tagout procedures.
• Read and follow written procedures and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Communicate effectively with engineers and technicians to coordinate tasks.
