Job summary

Ormat in Reno, NV seeks a Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient plant operation in line with safety and operating procedures. The role involves monitoring plant systems, responding to alarms and taking corrective actions to maintain production.

Responsibilities include adherence to safety protocols, operating equipment during normal operation and maintenance, data review, logging activities, planning support, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand procedures and instructions.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and complete operator qualifications within designated timeframes.
• Operate power-generation equipment during normal operation, scheduled maintenance, and emergency repair procedures.
• Review routine operating data, troubleshoot abnormal indications and take corrective actions.
• Monitor displays, log plant activities, and ensure optimal production.
• Participate in planning and scheduling of plant activities.
• Prepare, review, edit, and recommend operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Perform fire equipment testing.
• Assist with equipment isolation, evacuation and lockout/tagouts.
• Read and follow written procedures; interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Monitor meters, gauges, and control boards and adjust generator output and grid flow.
