Job summary

Ormat, headquartered in Reno, NV, is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of our geothermal power plant in accordance with safety procedures and SOPs. You will monitor systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate with maintenance and operations staff to sustain optimal production.

Responsibilities include performing routine operations, conducting preventive tasks, and participating in training to maintain certifications and meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Understand procedures and instructions as taught in four years of high school.
• Must read, write and speak English proficiently to communicate information safely and effectively.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to policy.
• Must use computer software for email and spreadsheets; proficient in MS Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Must effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to safety procedures and complete operator safety qualifications within timeframes.
• Control power-generation equipment during normal operation, maintenance, and emergencies.
• Review routine operating data, troubleshoot abnormal indicators, and take corrective actions.
• Use displays and logs to monitor performance and maintain production levels.
• Plan and schedule plant activities and maintain operating procedures.
