Job summary

NV Energy in North Las Vegas seeks a Plant Operator to perform power plant operations and maintenance during 12-hour shifts in a combined cycle facility. You will monitor control room operations, run preventive maintenance, calibrate instruments, and record production logs while maintaining safety and compliance with environmental and NERC standards.

Qualifications

Graduate of apprenticeship program or trade school with knowledge of electrical generating equipment/operations and turbine generators.
3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical isometric drawings, electrical one-line and wiring diagrams and OEM manuals.

Responsibilities

Ensures safety and compliance with environmental regulations and NERC standards while operating plant equipment.
Operates control room and performs start-up/shut-down of plant equipment in a combined cycle power plant.
Performs preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instruments and controls.
Maintains production records and logs of operating conditions.
