Job summary

Ormat Technologies, Inc. in Hawaii is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient power-plant operation in line with safety procedures and SOPs. You will monitor plant systems, respond to alarms, and maintain logs, while coordinating with the team on planned activities and shift coverage.

The role requires reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, performing routine maintenance, and training less experienced operators as needed. Overtime and 12-hour shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency.
• Valid driver's license per company policy.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Outlook and Internet applications.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to safety procedures and complete operator qualifications on schedule.
• Operate power-generation equipment during normal, maintenance, and emergency procedures.
• Review operating data, troubleshoot abnormal indications and take corrective action.
• Monitor displays, log plant activities, and maintain production levels.
• Plan and schedule plant activities and participate in procedures development.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and fire equipment testing.
