Job summary

Ormat is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of the geothermal power plant in the United States. You will monitor equipment, respond to alarms, and maintain production while following safety procedures.

Responsibilities include operating a range of machinery, reviewing data, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with plant procedures and documentation. A valid driver’s license and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to understand procedures and operate safely following plant procedures.
• Must read, write, and speak English proficiently to communicate safety and operational information.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record per policy.
• Proficiency with computer software including MS Excel, Outlook, and internet usage.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to safety procedures and complete operator safety qualifications on schedule.
• Control power-generation equipment during normal operation, maintenance, and emergencies.
• Review operating data, troubleshoot indications, and take corrective actions.
• Monitor displays, logs, and parameters to maintain production and grid requirements.
• Participate in planning and scheduling of plant activities and update procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety-related testing.
