Job summary

California Resources Corporation seeks a Commercial Manager, Origination & Structuring to drive the day-to-day origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of power offtake transactions for geothermal and other renewables.

The role partners with technical, development, and legal teams to maximize project value, manage risks, and deliver bankable commercial terms for PPAs, vPPAs, and related arrangements.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in energy markets, power origination or renewable commercialization.
• Experience engaging with utilities, corporate energy buyers, and data center customers.
• Strong understanding of wholesale electricity markets and project economics.
• Ability to translate technical constraints into commercial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial origination strategies to secure long-term revenue contracts for geothermal and other renewables.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with utilities, CCAs, data centers, and energy buyers.
• Lead or support drafting and negotiation of long-term PPAs and vPPAs.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and leadership on contract terms and risk allocation.
• Monitor market fundamentals and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Track opportunities from initial engagement to contract execution.
