Job summary
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Power teams.
The successful candidate will assist senior staff with field investigations, laboratory coordination, data analysis and report preparation for power projects including transmission lines, substations, wind and solar projects. You will support geotechnical analyses, prepare reports, and help with proposals and design documents, traveling to site locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering (ABET-accredited).
- EIT/FE certification or pursuing certification preferred.
- Experience with geotechnical field investigations, testing, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site coordination of geotechnical site investigations and manage drilling subcontractors.
- Assist in preparation of geotechnical investigation reports and data-based analyses.
- Interpret geotechnical data for material classification and engineering properties.
- Support geotechnical analyses including bearing capacity, settlements, slope stability, and geophysical interpretations.
- Assist in proposals, bid documents, drawings, and design reports.
