Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Power teams. The successful candidate will assist senior staff with geotechnical work for power projects including transmission lines, substations, wind, and solar projects.

Duties include field investigations, lab coordination, design analyses, report preparation, and construction monitoring. Responsibilities include coordinating drilling subcontractors, logging soils, and applying site data to analyses;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering fundamentals, testing, and design/construct practices.
• Ability to travel and work in the field; strong documentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site coordination and execution of geotechnical site investigations.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports and analyze site data.
• Interpret data to classify materials and assess engineering properties.
• Perform or assist with analyses including bearing capacity and settlement.
• Maintain communication on work status and participate in proposals and drawings.
