Job summary

UES, Inc. in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Staff Engineer to plan, design, and direct geotechnical testing projects, including predevelopment studies, geotechnical design, and select civil design support, coordinating field and lab work with clients and project teams.

Candidates must have an EIT certification (or be able to obtain a P.E.), a BS in civil/geotechnical/environmental engineering, 1–2 years of related experience, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Engineer In Training (E.I.T) Certification is required or the ability to obtain.
• Ability to earn Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering from an accredited program; 1–2 years of related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and coordinating with project teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs or monitors dynamic load tests or PDA on piles to evaluate shaft integrity and driving energy.
• Uses transducers and sensors to monitor parameters during installation and testing.
• Analyzes data to model hammer/soil interaction and determine driving criteria for remaining piles.
• Provides lateral earth pressure design parameters to aid structural design.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Attends project meetings with clients to verify specifications.
• Maintains daily time and labor reports and paperwork.
• Supports flexible schedules, including overnight or weekend work when needed.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and PPE during field operations.
