Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer in Pensacola, FL to lead engineering testing projects, geotechnical design, and civil design support as needed.

You will analyze data, prepare reports and specifications, inspect sites, and use design software, collaborating with cross-functional teams while traveling up to 70% to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering from a four‑year college or university.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Engineer In Training (E.I.T) Certification.
• Ability to earn P.E. (Professional Engineer).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and working with project teams.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, site safety, and environmental regulations is helpful.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in both field and office environments and travel to project sites as needed.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Calculates cost and determines feasibility of projects from data analysis.
• Analyzes soil, terrain, hydrological data to plan and design projects.
• Prepares and directs reports, specs, plans, testing schedules and designs.
• Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and safety conformance to plans.
• Uses computer aided engineering and design software to prepare documents.
• Directs project site activities as needed.
