General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and report writing. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Analyze laboratory or field data for reports. Communicate complex engineering issues effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Services may be for projects in public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.

Location: This position can be based out of any of the following Terracon offices: Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Bettendorf, and Des Moines.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety concerns.
2. Prepare proposals and reports for projects under supervision, adhering to quality standards.
3. Plan, schedule, and coordinate project phases with moderate complexity under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
4. Maintain quality standards and gain project management experience.
5. Communicate with clients and project teams regarding scope and progress.
6. Evaluate laboratory and field data to make recommendations under supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Additional Location Information: The position can also be based out of Ames, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Bettendorf, and Des Moines offices.
