Shannon & Wilson is seeking a Geotechnical Seismic Modeling Engineer in Seattle to develop and analyze 1D/2D seismic models that support subsurface interpretation, hazard assessment, and engineering decisions. You will run seismic simulations, interpret complex geophysical data, and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to provide clear, actionable insights.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering with research in seismic hazards analysis or numerical modeling.
• 7–14 years of Geotechnical Engineer experience with seismic hazards evaluation.
• PE license in the state and ability to interact with clients, vendors, staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical seismic hazards analyses (1D/2D), site-response, and soil-structure interaction using geotechnical modeling software.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to validate assumptions and address issues.
• Develop and execute numerical models, calibrate, define boundary conditions, and post-process results.
