PCL Construction, Inc., Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Geotechnical Risk Manager to lead geotechnical risk across preconstruction, planning, and work packaging. You will translate subsurface data into accurate estimates and risk mitigation strategies, protecting cost and schedule on complex site work and underground construction.

The role requires deep geotechnical expertise, 10–15 years in heavy civil projects, and collaboration with designers and specialists.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in heavy civil construction, geotechnical engineering, or major underground/site work projects.
• Demonstrated experience with preconstruction, estimating, and risk management.
• Strong understanding of subsurface variability and uncertainty; ability to translate geotechnical data into practical decisions.

Responsabilités

• Geotechnical Due Diligence, interpretation, and qualification of reports; identify gaps and ambiguities; develop narratives for estimates and proposals.
• Preconstruction Estimating & Means and Methods for earthwork, deep foundations, underground utilities, drainage, and dewatering; establish production rates and sequencing.
• Risk Identification & Management: quantify and mitigate geotechnical risks to cost, schedule, safety, and constructability; develop risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Design & Stakeholder Coordination: collaborate with designers, geotechnical engineers, and subs; support ATCs and value engineering; participate in risk review meetings.
• Transition to Construction: handoff with documented geotechnical assumptions and risk ownership strategies; provide field support as needed.
