Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead project work, mentor junior staff, and engage with clients. The role supports offices in Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Bridgeport, WV and involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams on proposals, field exploration, and engineering analyses.

The successful candidate will manage safety, quality, and project metrics while delivering Geotechnical reports and construction drawings for complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or geology.
• 6-8 years of geotechnical engineering/project management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with multidiscipline team to prepare proposals and execute projects.
• Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation.
• Complete engineering analysis including soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis, geohazard evaluation, ground improvement, and earth retention systems.
• Partner with internal and external multidisciplinary teams during project development.
• Prepare Geotechnical Engineering reports.
• Prepare construction specifications and drawings.
• Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects.
• Positively interact with client representatives.
• Collaborate with project support staff to monitor and control project to achieve target metrics.

Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

This position is available in our Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Bridgeport, WV offices.

• Working knowledge of: MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Experience with geotechnical software packages including L-Pile, Uni-pile, SHAFT, gINT, GRL WEAP, GEO STUDIO, and FAD preferred.
• Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required.
