Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Project Engineer to support civil engineering and design for dams, embankments, fisheries facilities, and water resources projects. The role involves subsurface investigations, modeling, and coordinating with project teams.

The position offers in-person or hybrid work arrangements, with opportunities to lead design tasks and contribute to multidisciplinary documents. Licensed PE or eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering is required.
• Hand-on fieldwork experience is required.
• Licensed or eligible for P.E. certification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience; dam projects experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in field logging, classification, in situ and laboratory testing of soil and rock.
• Familiarity with Industry and Agency Design Codes and Standards is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and travel up to 25%.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute subsurface geotechnical investigations and manage subcontractor activities.
• Perform geotechnical modeling and analysis using listed software.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, walls, and embankments.
• Conduct dam safety inspections and contribute to design documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to drawings and specifications.
