Job summary

Yeh and Associates, Inc. in Durango, Colorado, invites a Geotechnical Project Engineer with 4–6+ years of geotechnical experience to join our office. You will support diverse US projects, contributing to design, analyses, and field investigations.

The role requires a PE or ability to obtain one in Colorado, strong communication, and safety commitment. Proficiency with geotechnical software is preferred, with opportunities for growth and leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Geologic or Civil Engineering.
• 4–6+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain one on hire.
• Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Commitment to safety standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate field exploration programs with staff and subcontractors.
• Assess job and site hazards and develop Health and Safety Plans.
• Interpret geologic and subsurface data to inform designs and analyses.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for infrastructure projects (grading, slopes, foundations, seismic hazards).
• Prepare technical reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers on cost estimates, proposals, and schedules.
• Lead geotechnical design for tiebacks, soil nails, MSE walls, and landslide/rockfall mitigation.
• Provide construction observation and engineering support during construction.
