Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Myrtle Beach team, providing hands-on geotechnical support from planning through completion. You will analyze soil and groundwater data, prepare clear reports, and collaborate with project managers, field crews, and clients on diverse projects shaping communities.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in civil/geotechnical engineering, at least 2 years of geotechnical experience (PM exposure preferred), and EIT/GIT status with PE/PG on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or related engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably with project management responsibilities.
• EIT or GIT is required.
• PE/PG or on track to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead geotechnical investigations and projects from planning through completion.
• Coordinate subsurface explorations, field observations, and laboratory testing to meet project scope and schedule.
• Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater data to develop practical geotechnical recommendations for foundations and site development.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations clearly communicating findings and risks to clients and teams.
• Mentor junior staff and promote a strong safety, quality, and professional development culture.
