Job summary

S&ME in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations from planning through completion, applying sound engineering judgment to site and subsurface conditions.

You will work with project managers, field and lab teams, and clients to analyze data and deliver reports that support building and infrastructure projects across public and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 2 years of related geotechnical experience, preferably with project management.
• EIT or GIT required.
• PE/PG or on track to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead geotechnical investigations from planning through completion.
• Coordinate subsurface explorations, field observations, and laboratory testing.
• Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater data to develop practical geotechnical recommendations.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations for clients and project teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, field staff, subcontractors, and clients; mentor junior staff.
