• 0-3 years of experience in the geotechnical field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Job Description

The Geotechnical department is looking for a candidate to support our growing team in the New York southern tier area (not New York City). This employee may be at an entry level or up to an associate level. Salary is negotiable based on prior experience and may vary outside the listed range depending on discussions with the supervisor and division director.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform geotechnical field services, including subsurface exploration layouts, drilling and test pit inspections, geophysical surveys, and construction monitoring.
2. Conduct visual classification and laboratory testing of soil samples collected during investigations.
3. Prepare subsurface exploration logs for geotechnical evaluations and reports.
4. Assist in geotechnical evaluations and prepare report drafts for senior review.

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in the geotechnical field.
• Experience in a geotechnical laboratory is preferred but not required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Willingness to perform out-of-town field work approximately 40% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to various geotechnical projects.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000. The actual salary offered will depend on relevant experience, education, and work location.
