Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Geotechnical Principal to lead the geotechnical practice with strategic direction and quality control across projects. You will provide final technical authority, mentor leaders, and drive business development while maintaining a strong customer service attitude.

The role requires a PE or PG license, 12 years of related experience, and a track record of building regional client relationships.

Qualifications

• 12 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) in each state of practice.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
• Established reputation as a technical expert with strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and final authority over geotechnical projects.
• Review and approve reports, calculations, and deliverables.
• Ensure quality and consistency of technical output across teams.
• Oversee regional execution and intervence on high‑risk issues.
• Mentor Associate Principals, Senior PMs, and emerging leaders.
• Support business development and client relationship growth.
• Review proposals, contracts, and major project decisions.
• Contribute to departmental and regional P&L and staffing decisions.
• Represent the firm as a technical expert in industry and community.
