Job summary

UES is offering a 10-week geotechnical internship designed to bridge classroom knowledge with hands-on field and laboratory testing. You will rotate through geotechnical investigations, soils and concrete lab testing, and field testing to understand how materials behave in real-world conditions.

Throughout the program you’ll work with engineering teams, complete a capstone project, and gain industry-ready competencies in testing and analysis for project success.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and interest in fieldwork/testing.
• Effective written and verbal communication; teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical investigations and drilling observations.
• Perform soils laboratory testing (Atterberg limits, sieve analyses, proctor, swell tests).
• Support concrete laboratory testing, specimen preparation, and strength measurements.
• Participate in field testing of soils and concrete, including density tests and proof rolling.
