Job summary

UES, Inc. invites motivated students to join a Geotechnical Engineering Internship spanning 10 weeks. You will work in field and laboratory settings, gaining hands‑on experience in soil sampling, boring logs, and data collection.

You’ll collaborate with seasoned professionals on real projects and contribute to technical documentation and analyses. You’ll participate in a capstone project that showcases your field and lab skills, culminating in a presentation to department leadership.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineering.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with interest in fieldwork and testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with soil classifications and boring log creation using AutoCAD.
• Collect field samples with a hand auger and update boring logs.
• Organize, label, and log material samples per QA standards.
• Maintain accurate field and lab reports.
• Calibrate and clean testing equipment as required.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Capstone Project: present a final report to department leadership.
