Shannon & Wilson, an employee-owned geotechnical engineering firm in Seattle, seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform soil and rock testing, document data, and assist with field sampling. The role supports project teams, emphasizes accuracy, and requires adherence to QA and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 0–3 years for entry level, 4+ years for mid/senior.
• Proficiency in mathematics and accurate data recording.
• Certifications in soils, concrete, and asphalt testing preferred (WAQTC, ACI, NICET).
• Geotechnical field-testing and observation experience is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Perform laboratory testing on soil and rock materials.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment; document results clearly.
• Process data using computer software and prepare reports.
• Communicate progress and test results to clients and staff.
• Support field sampling and testing as needed; follow QA and safety policies.
