Job summary

Shannon & Wilson Inc is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory testing on soil and rock and to support field sampling and testing. Responsibilities vary by experience and business needs, with opportunities at entry, mid, and senior levels.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0–3 years of relevant experience for entry level, with opportunities for growth into more advanced roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years field or lab tech experience for entry level.
• Proficiency in mathematics including algebra.
• Record laboratory readings and field notes accurately.
• Certifications in soils, concrete, asphalt testing (WAQTC, ACI, NICET) preferred.
• Geotechnical field-testing experience preferred.
• MS Word and Excel required; Access desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soil and rock.
• Use and maintain scientific testing equipment.
• Process test data using computer software.
• Communicate test progress and present results.
• Interact with clients, vendors and staff at all levels.
• Perform field sampling and testing.
• Follow QA policies and safety guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
