Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in ground improvement and support of excavation for heavy civil projects. You will translate design decisions into practical construction means, methods, and costs.

The role spans planning through construction, requiring collaboration with designers, contractors, owners, estimators, and management teams to deliver cost-effective solutions for challenging sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure.
• 5+ years of direct field experience on heavy civil tunnel projects; 10+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for ground improvement, excavation support, and geotechnical construction techniques.
• Evaluate ground improvement systems based on site conditions, constructability, schedule, cost, and risk.
• Perform constructability input and reviews of plans, specs, and proposed construction methods.
• Develop project specifications for ground improvement, grouting, and excavation support systems.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, civil, and construction teams to resolve issues.
• Support cost estimates, quantities, labor, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
• Communicate technical issues and recommendations to project teams and clients.
