Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Ground Improvement Engineer with a strong background in ground improvement, excavation support, and constructability for heavy civil projects. You will translate design into practical field execution, supporting planning, procurement, and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• 5+ years’ field experience on heavy civil tunnel projects; 10+ years preferred.
• Experience with ground improvement and support of excavation; constructability awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for ground improvement, excavation support, and geotechnical construction techniques.
• Evaluate ground improvement and excavation systems based on site conditions, constructability, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Perform constructability input and reviews of plans, specs, and construction approaches.
• Develop project specifications related to ground improvement and excavation systems.
• Identify construction challenges and interface risks during design.
• Bridge design intent to field execution with practical solutions.
• Assist with cost estimates, quantities, and construction assumptions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide field observations, troubleshooting, and on-site solutions during construction.
• Communicate technical issues to project managers, clients, and contractors.
